Potty Trained

My baby is a big BOY…8

Soooo.. I did it.  I took off a day on 4th of July weekend to extend my 3 day weekend into a 4 day weekend.  I semi-followed a potty training program and we got it done.  It was a great and terrible weekend.

I got to spend so much time with my baby with no interruptions.  No T.V. for at least 48 hours and then some.  No real outside interruptions.  Nothing but me, my Boo, and Legos.  I built and he destroyed.  He instructed and I built.  AND, it was AMAZING.  It was the best weekend I have ever had.  In all that time spent and bonding and running to the potty I fell in love with my son all over again.  We only had two accidents and minor ones at that.  Not that he hasn’t had a few since then but he is in big boy undies and going like a champ.

We did have one terrible incident, but it was not potty related.  After he did such an amazing job he asked me for a toy he saw on YouTube (watching the anti-parent toy reviews aimed at getting a child’s attention and breaking a parent’s wallet).  But, Mickey Mouse and The Roadster Racers Playset it was.  My baby wanted it and he was going to get it.

I didn’t know that in going to get the toy for my growing little man who was successfully relieving his bladder like a big kid was going to lead to such torment, pain and heartache.  I can actually say I put my blood, sweat and tears into getting that potty training appreciation toy for my baby.  To make a long story short.  We fell.  I fell with my baby 🙁

We got the toy, but…
